Pablo was born in the Colca Canyon Valley where he grew up speaking the local language, Quechua. He studied tourism in Arequipa in a local institute and have worked as a tourist guide for about 10 years throughout different areas of Peru.Then, Pablo had the opportunity to start guiding in his home, the Colca Canyon Valley, as a young man. Since, he has guided in Cusco, Machu Picchu, and Lago Titicaca. His specialty is working as a trekking guide in the mountains to share customs and knowledge of the small Andean communities of the Peruvian sierra.
Thanks to all his experiences, he was inspired by eco-friendly, homestay tourism for several reasons. One being that this class of tourism benefits the small, local communities of Peru, which are often underrepresented. After several years, he founded Peru Baby Lama with the intentions of sharing these more authentic homestay experiences with tourists.
Yudy,who is the secound partner and was born in a small community inside the Colca Canyon, called San Juan de Chuccho. She grew up on her small family farm until she was 11-years-old. Then, she went to live with her uncle in Lima in order to have more educational opportunities. Several years after, returned to Arequipa to study tourism and began working as a trekking guide in the Colca Canyon. After five years, she began guiding throughout Peru and Bolivia. Yudy has also had the opportunity to see the world via her work for three years on board a cruise ship.
Here in Arequipa, Pablo and Yudy founded Peru Baby Lama with the hopes of sharing our beautiful country and culture with travelers from all over the world. Specifically, we work to share authentic experiences giving travelers the opportunity to get to know the true Peru.
