This Colca Conventional tour is another customer favorite, giving you a bit more time to explore Chivay and experience life in a small Andean village. You can also do this tour on full day.
You will be picked up from your hotel or hostel in Arequipa’s city center between 7:30 am and 8:00 am and drive north to Chivay making two stops along the way: at Patapama lookout and in the Salinas and Aguada Blanca National Reserve.
Upon arriving to Chivay, we will eat lunch and you will have the opportunity to leave your belongings in your hotel.
At 3 pm, we have an optional excursion to the La Calera hot springs where you will have one hour to bathe in the hot baths.
Dinner will be served at a local restaurant and afterwards you will retire to your hotel for the night.
After eating breakfast at your hotel the following morning, we will pick you up to drive two hours to the Condor Cross, a lookout located on the rim of the canyon. Here you will have one hour to enjoy the view and look for condors flying overhead.
We will make our way back towards Chivay making stops at Antawilke to see pre-Incan terraces and a small colonial town called Maca.
Upon arriving to Chivay we will stop at a local restaurant to eat lunch before heading back towards Arequipa. Upon arrival, you will be dropped off two blocks from the Plaza de Armas around 4:00 pm.
