Day Tour trip to visit the Colca Canyon, this is the Best way when you dont have so much time in Arequipa, Enjoy one of the deepest canyons in the world with nice and happy local people. We also have the option with the trek.
At 02:45/3.30 am we leave Arequipa driving for about 3 hours towards Chivay; The capital of the Colca Canyon on north west direction behind snow-covered Chachani mountain. We will arrive to chivay for our breakfast
Then we continue driving for 1 more hrs we will have stop in couple of natural viewpoint to see the valley and towards the after we will get to most visited point “ the Cross of the Condor” here we are able to see the depth of the canyon and the flight of the Condor for approximately 1 hour.in our way back we will see beautiful typical towns, like Yanque & Maca (where we have stops), colonial churches, gently people with typical needlework dresses, hundreds of pre Inca terraces still in use with Andean growing’s like corn, quiñoa, quiwicha among others.
*Before lunch there is an option to go to the hot springs 35 Celsius grades* optional activities.
After Lunch we come back to Arequipa; on the way we stop at: the highest pass the viewpoint of the Volcanoes and snow covered mountains in Patapampa (4,800 m. – 15,000 ft.) Later we have stops at the National Reserve were will see wild vicuñas, alpacas & llamas at Pampa Cañahuas national reserve, some birds like flamingoes, ibis, Andean goose, ducks, Andean eagle «Kara Kara». 5:30 pm approximately you should be back in Arequipa.

Along the way, you will reach altitudes of over 4000 meters, so some people can suffer altitude sickness (“Soroqchi”): Spend at least 1 day in Arequipa before taking part in the tour to acclimatize to the altitude, although this is not necessary if coming from Cusco or Puno.
